Design Contest Winner, Senergy

Our design, Senergy, won the Design Contest Award at the IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design 2014. 

Senergy is an embedded system that uses the concept of harvesting and gathering energy from passive sensors when the system is idle, and using it to power sub-systems. In our demonstration, we were able to harvest energy from a light sensor (whenever light was not being sensed by the MCU) and use it to power a real-time clock (RTC) continuously.
